Cycle for Brother Kevin was first established as 'The Great Escape' Cycle in 2010 by friends Fergal Flynn and Paul Kelly. Both had a keen interest in cycling, an awareness of the good work of The Capuchin Day Centre, and also in the town of Belmullet, Co. Mayo! What started as an informal group of 6 cyclists in 2010 has now grown into a massively successful organised event which will be limited to 100 cyclists in 2020 with the ultimate aim of raising more funds for this worthy cause. The Event raised over €105,000 in 2019 alone.
The cycle this year will be Leinster based due to Covid, and the exact route has now been confirmed, leaving Westmanstown, Dublin 15 on the morning of 18 September 2021 and heading to Trim via Maynooth, Kilkock, returning to Westmanstown that evening, a total of 85km.
