Cycle for Brother Kevin was first established as 'The Great Escape' Cycle in 2010 by friends Fergal Flynn and Paul Kelly. Both had a keen interest in cycling, an awareness of the good work of The Capuchin Day Centre, and also in the town of Belmullet, Co. Mayo! What started as an informal group of 6 cyclists in 2010 has now grown into a massively successful organised event which will be limited to 100 cyclists in 2019 with the ultimate aim of raising more funds for this worthy cause. The Event raised over €112,000 in 2018 alone.
The cycle leaves from Bow Street, Dublin 7 on the morning of Friday 7 June 2019, overnights in Drumshambo, Co. Leitrim and arrives in Belmullet, Co.Mayo at approximately 18:00 hrs on Saturday 8 June 2019. A function for the participants will be held on the night at The Broadhaven Bay Hotel in Belmullet.
